Pancakes with Butter Pat

Christmas Breakfast anyone?

In my last post on my blog, I promised I would post the pattern for the pancakes I made for my great nieces, E and M's, Christmas present. Well, M's Christmas, and E's 2nd Birthday next June . . . but making doubles of everything is easier than doing it all over again, right?

Here is the complete breakfast menu:
If anyone wants the patterns for the "bacon and eggs," leave me a comment and I will post them next.

Pancakes with Butter Pat
#4 worsted weight yarn
Pancake: Red Heart Soft in Wheat
Butter: Vanna's Choice Baby in Duckie
Crochet Hook: F/5-3.75mm

Pancake Rnd 1: Using a Magic Circle, Ch 3 and place 14 dc into the ring, DO NOT sl st to close, you are going to be making your rnds spiral.

Rnd 2: *Sc in the next st, 2 sc in the following st, * repeat from * to * around.

Rnd 3: *Hdc in the first 2 sts, 2 hdc in the next st,* repeat from * to * around.

Rnd 4:*Sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc in the following st, * repeat from * to * around.

Rnd 5: *Hdc in the first 4 sts, 2 hdc in the next st,* repeat from * to * around.

Rnd 6:*Sc in the next 5 sts, 2 sc in the following st, * repeat from * to * around.

Rnd 7: *Hdc in the first 6 sts, 2 hdc in the next st,* repeat from * to * around.
Your pancake should look something like this. Looks like you will have a weird top, but the edging will make it neater.

Close up of the last st from photo above.
Rnd 8: You will make an edging using the CRAB ST or Backward Single Crochet. (If you can't do this st, do a st st around to finish off the edge.)

This is what the last st in Rnd 8 will look like.

Do one more Crab St into the last hdc on Rnd 7.
Fasten off and weave in end like normal.
This is the finished pancake . . .
the uneven ending of Rnd 7 is not as noticeable now.

Now for the Butter Pat
Row 1: Ch 5, sc in the 2nd st from the hook and in each across, ch 1, turn.

Rows 2-4: Sc in each st across, ch 2, turn. (No ch 1 turn in Rnd 4. Instead, fasten off and leave a LONG end for attaching butter to pancake.

Attach butter pat to pancake and you are finished.
