Lop Eared Easter Bunny Hat

I like to make my niece, Miss E, a hat for each holiday. This year I knew exactly what I wanted to make, a Lop Eared Bunny. I could see it in my mind’s eye, now, could I make it a reality?

The answer was YES ! ! ! ! !

Yeah for me … I ended up with the easiest pattern. I used yarn that I had in my stash, and it worked PERFECTLY … pastels on white for the hat and pink lined ears. If she had been a boy, I would have made the inner ears blue … any color would work.

Teenage Turtle Beanie

A new treasure for any child between the age of 0 and 99.

I not only love the ease of the pattern

I like the fact I can make any size under pre-teen

in one day, maybe two days

 if I have other things to do besides crochet.

(I hate those days, don't you?)

This is my toddler neighbor modeling his hat.

Isn't he cute . . . 

and, you can see, the hat goes well with crumbs on a chin :)

And then we have my neighbor, Mason.

He was my original teen model.

But I felt it was too big

so I frogged and started over.

When I was ready for the "remake" modeling

Mason was at football practice

so his sister, Cassie, volunteered.

I sure like this one better.

Oh, and the mask is attached to the hat

but it ties in the back . . . 

this way, if it is a little large,

it can be "tightened" up.

Oh, the hat Cassie is wearing

has a sc mask.

so it can adapt from a newborn
to an adult male.

MATERIALS USED Worsted Weight Yarn    Color A: - Vanna’s Choice - Scarlett    Color B: Red Heart Buttercup - White Crochet Hook – G/6 -4.25M Tapestry/Yarn Needle Scissors GAUGE: Not Important, this pattern uses the size  chart  at the end of the pattern to achieve the size hat you desire. ABBREVIATIONS: ch - chain                                              rnd(s) - rounds(s) dc - double crochet                                 sc - single crochet hdc - half double crochet                         st(s) - stitch(es) MC - Magic Circle                                   trc - treble crochet NOTES FOR HAT 1.      This hat can be made for any size from a preemie to an adult male. You will need to         make your crown the circumference and height specific for the person. 2.      Check the chart at the bottom of the pattern for the circumferences       and heights for different ages of individuals. Then, fill in the information you need below. a.      _____ Circumference of Head b.      _____ Circumference For Hat c.       _____ Height of Hat 3.      To make measuring the hat easier: a.      cut a piece of yarn in one color the length of the circumference of the hat. b.      Cut another piece of yarn, in a different color, the length of the height you need. 4.      HINT: To get a GREAT size match, use Styrofoam balls with the circumference of the head you want to fit.
