Advent Stockings Garland

What does one do when one has a pile of stockings lying around the house?

One decides to use them as a Christmas gift.

But who, in their right mind, needs 25 stockings about 2" x 4"?

So, this one becomes creative.

One lays them out on the kitchen table and a light bulb goes off in my head . . .

How about an Advent Stocking Garland? What do you think?

Use some Christmas-y ribbon, find some mini-clothes pins (I either found these in the scrapbook department, or maybe the baby-clothes department of AC Moore) and hang the stockings on the ribbon.

VIOLA! Advent Stockings!

To add to the Advent theme, I found 25 days worth of Bible verses, typed them up, printed them off, laminated them (well, really, I used clear packaging tape) so they will last through the years. So now, everyday from Dec 1 through Dec 25, a different section of the Bible can be read that tells about the upcoming birth of Jesus Christ.

If you would like to buy the pattern, it is available for $4.99 in my Ravelry Store, "The Fur~Babies Momma." Just click the buy now button to be transported to my shop.
100% of the purchase price for the pattern goes to Natalie's 2nd Chance Shelter, a no-kill dog shelter in my home state of Indiana. It is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization

  1. These are so pretty! I just love the cheerful colors, and what a great idea to make an advent garland. I'll have to try that next year! Thanks for sharing at Hookin On Hump Day!
