Americana Baby Border

This pattern was originally published May 23, 2010.

I posted the Americana Baby blanket
a while ago.

But, I didn't post the border.
As luck would have it,
I actually had it written out.

So,
for your crochet enjoyment
Here is my 2nd Border Pattern.

Abbreviations
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
PU = pick up

wavy bunting

Round 1: Join A to any corner, ch 1, *sc 3 times into corner st, sc in each st and the join between blocks to next corner, * repeat from * to * around, sl st to beginning ch 1.
NOTE: You may want to change the sc on either side of the join and the join sp to this: hdc, dc, hdc. Sometimes this area looks low and this will even up the stitches.

Round 2: Ch 1, repeat round 1 from * to *, FASTEN OFF after ending sl st.

NOTE: Round 4 tends to twist yarn. My suggestion is :
  1. Cut each color of yarn into a piece 4 – 5 yards long (+/-) ~ measured from the tip of your nose to the tip of your fingers. . no yard stick needed.
  2. Whenever yarn gets twisted, just untwist this amount. It is a LOT EASIER that untwisting 3 skeins.
  3. You may want to cut the skeins into three different lengths so they will be woven in at different places around the border.
Round 4: Join Color A into any corner, ch 3, in same sp *PU B and dc, PU C and dc, PU A dc in next sp,* repeat from * to * around making sure to have 3 dc in each corner. Fasten off all three yarns at the end of the round.
